Questions, answered
Is this real notation or just chords over lyrics?
Real staff notation — noteheads, stems, key signature, meter. Chord symbols sit above the staff like a proper lead sheet. Export to PDF or MusicXML, or view and transpose it in the studio.
How good is the notation today?
Honest answer: it's early access and labeled BETA. Chords and key are strong; melody transcription is younger. Uncertain notes are marked so you know exactly where to spend your ear.
Can I edit the notation?
Yes — correct any chord or note the engine got wrong. Confidence marks on every note and chord show you exactly what to double-check first.
Which editors and DAWs does it export to?
MusicXML (MuseScore, Sibelius, Dorico, Finale), MIDI and PDF — all four export formats.
Can I get the chords of a famous song?
Matra works on audio you have — your own playing, your recordings, your practice takes. We don't host or publish transcriptions of copyrighted songs. If you can play it or record it, Matra can chart it.
What does it cost?
Right now — nothing. Matra is free during early access (fair use: about 20 recordings a day), and every file still shows its real Token price so there are no surprises later. The meter: about 1 Token per 15 seconds, a typical 3½-minute recording ≈ ◇14. When billing starts, early-access musicians keep ◇600 — plus half price for 3 months and 25% off the rest of their first year. Sargam and notation views cost nothing, ever.
Is my audio private?
Yes. Uploads are private by default, nothing you make is published anywhere, and we never train on your audio.
