Converter · mp3 → notation
MP3 to sheet music, honestly.
Real staff notation from the recordings you own.
Upload an MP3 of your playing and Matra drafts the lead sheet — melody, chords, key. Notation is early access: it tells you what to double-check instead of pretending it's perfect.

How it works
Record or upload
Your own playing, a voice memo, a hum — up to six minutes. The exact Token price is shown on the file before anything is charged.
Matra writes the chart
Chords, key, meter and melody — drafted in about a minute, with confidence on every chord.
Fix, then keep it
Correct anything with a tap; the engine learns from it. Export PDF, MusicXML or MIDI — free, and free again next time.

Questions, answered
Can I open the result in MuseScore or Sibelius?
Yes — export MusicXML or MIDI, and MusicXML opens clean in MuseScore, Sibelius, Dorico and Finale. You can also view and transpose the chart in the studio.
Does WAV work too?
Yes — MP3, WAV and M4A all work, up to six minutes per recording.
How accurate is it?
Chords and key are our strongest outputs and carry per-chord confidence so you always know what to trust. Staff notation is early access — honest but imperfect today, and improving as the engine trains on more recordings.
Can I get the chords of a famous song?
Matra works on audio you have — your own playing, your recordings, your practice takes. We don't host or publish transcriptions of copyrighted songs. If you can play it or record it, Matra can chart it.
What does it cost?
Right now — nothing. Matra is free during early access (fair use: about 20 recordings a day), and every file still shows its real Token price so there are no surprises later. The meter: about 1 Token per 15 seconds, a typical 3½-minute recording ≈ ◇14. When billing starts, early-access musicians keep ◇600 — plus half price for 3 months and 25% off the rest of their first year. Sargam and notation views cost nothing, ever.
Is my audio private?
Yes. Uploads are private by default, nothing you make is published anywhere, and we never train on your audio.
Built with the musicians who use it.
Matra is in early access. Fix a chord or a note the engine got wrong, and we gift you Tokens as thanks — your ear makes the engine better for everyone.
